Why get braces?

If you are looking to improve your smile and oral health with orthodontics you are not alone. Some issues that require orthodontic treatment such as losing baby teeth too early or too late, tooth gaps, over bites and under bites, jaw growth issues, extra teeth or missing teeth, and overcrowding can be genetic. Thumb sucking, breathing through the mouth, accidents, poor nutrition and poor oral hygiene can also cause orthodontic issues. No matter the cause, orthodontic treatment will have many benefits.

Straight teeth and a correct bite will improve your oral health. Straight teeth are easier to keep clean leading to fewer cavities and less gum disease. A correct bite will help you avoid issues such as excessive wear on your teeth, difficulty chewing, broken teeth, TMJ, head pain, and neck pain. Having crooked or misaligned teeth can cause many problems that can be expensive to treat. By getting orthodontic treatment you can save time and money.

Having straight symmetrical teeth and a correct bite will help create a beautiful confident smile. Having a great smile can help improve your life in many ways and may even help increase how much you make at your job in the long run. The practical and cosmetics benefits of braces make them an excellent treatment choice.

Who Needs Braces?

Seventy-five percent of children could benefit from orthodontic treatment. Forty-five percent of kids need braces for some kind of malocclusion (incorrect bite). Correcting a child’s bite will save time and money in future dental visits. Bringing your kids in for regular dental checkups is important so we can identify and begin treating any potential orthodontic issues. Treatment can start as young as four years old.

Children are not the only ones that can benefit from braces. In fact, fifty percent of new orthodontic patients are adults. If you ever find yourself being self-conscious about your teeth adult braces may be the answer for you. New clear dental braces make straightening teeth easier and more discrete than ever before. At Associates of Dental Arts we offer Invisalign and Six Month Smiles if you want to have clear braces. We also offer traditional braces that, while not clear, are still much smaller and less noticeable than in the past.

How Long Is the Treatment?

The length of treatment depends on the type of braces being used and the goal of treatment. For example, Six Month Smiles focuses on your visible teeth and does little or nothing to adjust your bite. Invisalign and traditional braces give the same visible results but also allow for the adjustment of the molars so the doctor can correct your bite. Also, the closer you follow the doctor’s instructions, the faster the treatment will go.

What Are the Cost of Braces?

The costs of braces depends on the length of treatment and the type of treatment. We offer free consultations so we can go over your treatment options and help you make the best decision possible.
