January is International Quality of Life Month

After Christmas has passed, the topic everyone talks about is New Year Resolutions.  People start spending more time in self reflection, deciding what goals they have for the new year and what objectives they want to accomplish.  Once January begins, the goal is to put those thoughts into action and have a "New Year, New You" attitude.  Aptly timed, January is International Quality of Life Month.

Think about your life.  What could be done differently to improve your quality of life and make you happier?  For some people, it may be to exercise more, drink more water instead of soda, or eat a more balanced diet.  Other people may have career goals; get the big promotion, find a job that you're passionate about, or master the job they currently have.  Maybe the perfect goal for you means spending more time with your family, setting a date night at least once a month with your spouse, or taking more time out for yourself.  These are all worthy goals, some people may choose to implement more than one to improve their quality of life in a variety of ways.

Here are a few resolutions from our team.

  • Angie will read more books.
  • Sonya will limit her use of foul language.
  • Karen will keep a balanced checkbook.
  • Sarah will cook at home more often.

It is also important to consider your health when considering a new resolution.  Some great ones that we recommend are:

  • Attend your regular six month, or as frequently as your hygienist recommended dental cleaning and exam.
  • Floss daily
  • Brush at least twice a day

We are happy to celebrate International Quality of Life Month and hope that not only this month, but all of 2019 brings much happiness to all of our amazing patients.
